Individual Therapy

Therapy for adults who want to understand themselves more deeply, create lasting change, and build healthier relationships.

You may appear to be functioning well on the outside while internally feeling anxious, resentful, disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck in familiar relationship patterns.

Individual therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what keeps repeating, and begin responding to yourself and others in more intentional ways.

My approach

My style is warm, direct, collaborative, and thoughtful. I do not believe therapy should feel passive or vague.

Together, we will look at the patterns that shaped you, the roles you’ve learned to play in relationships, and the ways those patterns may still be affecting your life now.

Our work may include exploring family-of-origin dynamics, relationship patterns, emotional avoidance, identity, boundaries, and the internal conflict that can arise when wanting closeness while also needing more space.

I also integrate practical tools when helpful, including skills for emotion regulation, communication, assertiveness, and tolerating difficult feelings without becoming overwhelmed by them.

Therapy with cultural nuance

Our identities, families, communities, and lived experiences shape how we understand ourselves and move through the world. Rather than viewing these parts of you as separate from therapy, I see them as an important part of understanding your story.

As a bilingual Latina psychologist, I strive to create a space where culture, identity, values, and relationships can be explored with curiosity rather than assumption. Whether culture and identity are central to what brings you to therapy or simply part of the context in which your life unfolds, they are welcome in our work together.

What we might work on

In individual therapy, we may focus on helping you:

  • Understand recurring emotional and relational patterns

  • Set boundaries without becoming consumed by guilt

  • Communicate more clearly and directly

  • Reduce anxiety, overthinking, and emotional reactivity

  • Make sense of family and cultural expectations

  • Build relationships that feel more mutual, honest, and sustainable

  • Feel less stuck in old roles and more connected to yourself

Session details

Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes and are held virtually. I work with adults located in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and PSYPACT-participating states.

I offer therapy in English and Spanish.

Fees and insurance

I am an out-of-network provider and offer courtesy out-of-network billing when applicable. If you have out-of-network benefits, my office can help submit claims on your behalf.

Begin with a consultation

A consultation is an opportunity to briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, answer your questions, and determine whether my approach feels like the right fit for your needs.
