Online Therapy in Florida
For adults who want to understand the patterns shaping their lives and make meaningful changes in how they relate to themselves and others.
You may be doing well in many parts of your life and still find yourself caught in patterns that are difficult to change.
Maybe you spend a lot of time thinking about what other people need or how they might react. Or perhaps you are used to being direct, decisive, and self-reliant, but find that the same qualities that help you navigate some parts of your life can create tension in others. You may struggle to navigate boundaries, hold yourself or others to very high standards, or find yourself repeating familiar patterns in relationships even when you understand where they come from.
Sometimes the struggle is harder to name. From the outside, things may look relatively good. You are functioning, managing responsibilities, and doing what needs to get done. But internally, you may feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, frustrated in your relationships, or simply aware that something needs to change.
What we might work on together
Therapy may focus on one particular concern, or on several patterns that have become intertwined over time. Some of the areas I commonly work with include:
ANXIETY & OVERTHINKING
When your mind rarely seems to turn off, you may find yourself anticipating problems, replaying interactions, second-guessing decisions, or trying to stay one step ahead of what could go wrong.
RELATIONSHIPS & FAMILY PATTERNS
Explore recurring patterns in family, friendships, dating, or long-term relationships, including how earlier experiences continue to shape what you expect from yourself and others.
BOUNDARIES & SELF-TRUST
Develop a clearer sense of what you want, need, and believe, while learning to navigate closeness, limits, conflict, and other people's reactions with greater confidence.
PERFECTIONISM & HIGH STANDARDS
Examine the pressure to perform, achieve, get things right, or maintain control, especially when the standards that have helped you succeed also make it difficult to rest or tolerate mistakes.
LIFE TRANSITIONS
Make sense of changes in identity, relationships, career, family, or other parts of life when the ways you have understood yourself no longer fit quite as well.
SELF- CRITICISM
Understand the internal judgments that shape how you see yourself, especially when mistakes are hard to tolerate or what you do rarely feels like enough.
Therapy that goes beyond insight
Understanding why you respond the way you do can be important. You may already have a good sense of where some of your patterns come from. But insight doesn't always change what happens in the moment when you feel anxious, criticized, disappointed, guilty, angry, or unsure of yourself.
We may look at how your experiences, relationships, culture, and earlier ways of coping shaped some of the ways you learned to respond. At the same time, we'll pay attention to what happens when those patterns show up in your everyday life and relationships, and practice responding differently when it matters.
The goal isn't to become a different person or eliminate every difficult feeling. It's to understand yourself well enough that you have more choice in how you respond, rather than automatically falling back into what is familiar.
Lasting change doesn't come from insight alone or action alone. It comes from understanding yourself deeply enough to make different choices, again and again, in your everyday life.
Culture, family, and identity are part of the conversation
The ways we understand relationships, responsibility, success, independence, and even what it means to be a “good” family member are shaped by more than your individual experiences.
Culture, family history, immigration, and the communities we belong to can influence what feels expected of you, what we allow ourselves to want, and how you navigate closeness, conflict, achievement, and change.
These parts of your experience don't have to be the focus of therapy. But when they matter, there should be room to understand them with nuance rather than treating them as background details.
